I need a solution
HI. Win Server 2003, BE 12.5, External HP Utrium 448 drive, LTO2 tapes. The drive began experiencing power issues with the power light continuously flashing and drive not responding. I did a hack and extracted the drive out of the enclusure, successfully powered it up with a pc power supply & reconnected it to the server (i was so proud) lol... I am able to read tapes but now for some reason I am unable to write to any of the tapes. Message say the "media is write protected." "The media in the drive is currently locked." Its the same drive and tapes and the tapes are not locked so Im not sure what the issue may be. Any suggestions are welcome.
