Adding Hyper-V virtual machines

Can anyone advise me how to properly add Hyper-V virtual machines in BE 2012?

There is no option to select a Hyper-V server so I assume that selecting "Microsoft Windows computers and servers" should automatically detect a virtual server and add it as such. However, when I add a virtual server that way, it simply says "Microsoft Windows computer" in the properties.

I understand that one of the big selling points of BE 2012 is that it is VM "application aware" i.e. servers that store critical dynamic contents such as Exchange, SQL server or a domain controller have the relevant components properly restored during a disaster recovery excercise.
