I am trying to create a backup job that will backup my server shares to a NAS drive and keep them backed up for 4 months.
I'm a little confused about the options under the storage section of the job.
I created one Full backup job and one Incremental job. My intention was to run a full backup each month and the incremental run once a week.
What I don't understand is how to configure how long to keep the data for. Do I keep the Full for 4 weeks and the incrementals for 16 weeks? Does that mean I will have no more than 2 full backup sets at any one time? Does that mean that every file I have will be retained for 16 weeks even if it is changed or deleted between each backup job?
For example, will this ensure that if someone creates document_1.0.docx on the first week, changes it on the second week, renames it to document_1.1.docx on the third week and deletes it on the 10th week will I have all revisions of all the files for 16 weeks total?
