Folgende Lösungen hab ich bereits versucht, leider ohne Erfolg:
1) Einmal eine Sicherung ohne AOF durchlaufen lassen. Dann gibt es keine Fehlermeldung, aber der Fehler bleibt anschließend.

2) InformationStore beenden, Umlaufprotokollierung starten, Store mit Windwossicherung komplett sichern, Umlaufprotokollierung wieder beenden. Informationstore wieder neu starten. Der Fehler bleibt.
3) C:\Programme\Exchsrvr\bin\eseutil /mh liefert clear shot down von der Datenbank.

if i have for exemple 2 SQL server Database Servers (or 2 exchange servers ) should i take 2 licences for application and database and 2 licence agent for windows or
just take one licence for application and database and 2 licences for agent for windows.??

Backup Exec Stopped Services
I need a solution
Hi,
Im running Backup Exec 2010 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server and I've been experiencing a strange problem the last few weeks. Every morning when I log onto the server I am greeted by the backup exec services manager dialog box that prompts me to restart the backup exec services. Since they have all been stopped overnight apparently for some reason I have to restart the services every morning and this is getting really frustrating. Please advise as to how I get solve this very annoying issue?

Stop classify GRT not compatible files as "Exception" in Full vmdk GRT enabled backup
I need a solution
During catalog of full vmdk GRT enabled backup, some files are tagged "GRT incompatile"... That's right !
We cannot exclude files from this type of backup... It's true !
So why consider thes files as "Exceptions" and the whole job not completely Successful ?
Is there a way to stop notitfy this type of files ?

DR file
I need a solution
Hi,
If I understood the contant of the IDR, to protect my exchange 2010 server in the case of an Disater I need these:
1. an .dr file, this file will be created when I run a full backup of our exchange server.
2. Run a full backup of the exchange 2010 server.(C, D, E drive VSS volume shdow, system state)
3. Run the IDR wizard to create a bootable media for the exchange server.
my question,
I was looking at the default the location that the *.dr file should be created there on the media server and there I can see alrady an 2 .dr files and one is for the exchange 2010 server. so my question is when I run a full backup of the exchange server would this exsiting .dr file get updated or a new one would be created?

just general question about SQL and .bkp files

what kind of backup works best for backing up a SQL backup (.bkp) file. I know it's recommended to backup the backups anyway. Does differentai and icrimental even play into this, or should it always be a full backup? or, should it be one of the others? Thanks!

Wednesdays Duplicate Diff Looking for Previous Weeks Diff Not this Weeks
I need a solution
I have got an odd thing happening, and I must say a lot of it is odd with BUE 12. It's a great product some things are very clever and easy to understand almost exciting, but sometimes I wonder if it's almost to clever. Either way here is my dilema.
I have my jobs configured as follows. Saturday night full, Monday thru Thursday Diff> Duplicate each one to tape. Everything runs well to disk but one of my nightly differentials, wednesday night, is failing with the good old error. Cannot find catalog media or something to that effect. Upon investigation I have found that it was looking for last weeks wednesday diff at least that's what it seems like. I looked at the job history and I did cancel last weeks job. My question is, Is it possible to get this job to catch up so that it looks for next weeks wednesday diff?

I am not able to install Backup Exec 12.5 Agent after downgrade
I need a solution
I have a server that we installed Symantec Backup Exec 2012, after so many problems, we decide to go back to the 12.5 version.
We uninstalled all the agents and the console, we installed the 12.5 console and start installing the agent without problem but one server.
If I do from the console, I don’t have any error but this server is not on the list, if I choose the option to update from the console server, It doesn't detect any version installed and if I try from the remote server I got the error: "Please provide original BEWS install media to re-apply transforms.".
I have restarted many time, try to install previous version. Right now I have the "Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent" on the control panel/ add remove program but it does not have the option Change or Remove.
Also there are not service with the agent.
I appreciate any suggestion

Backup Job is Getting failed on HP LTO 5 Ultirum 3000 Tape Library - Urgent

Hi Experts,
We are Testing the BE2012 with HP Tape Library. But we are facing issue like Backup Job is getting failed on one of the HP Tape Library.
Scenario:
We have a Cisco UCS C Series C24M3 Server will two PCIe Slot. On Both PCIe Slot we have inserted the LSI Mega RAID 9285 controller inorder to connect to the HP Tape Library. We have 2 HP Tape Library 1) HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader and 2) HP LTO 5 Ultirum 3000.
The Connectivity is made is such a way from LSI Mega RAID 9285-------> SAS Cable --------> HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader
The BE2012 was successfully able to list the HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader, and we are able to take the Backup and Restore
And then we have left with other PCIe Slot of LSI Mega RAID 9285, so that we made the connectivity like
LSI Mega RAID 9285 -----> SAS Cable -----> HP LTO5 Untirum 3000. Seems this HP LTO5 Ultirum 3000 is a DAS, so only we have gave connectivity directly to server. ( No Separate network connectivity for this Tape Library)
We have installed drivers with HP provided us, and our device manager was successfully able to list this HP LTO5 Ultirum 3000. ( See Screenshot)
In BE2012 we configured the storage and we are able to get one more drive as Tape Drive 002LTO000002. ( Hope this drive is for HP LTO5 Ultirum 3000)
We inserted the cartidge on HP LTO5 Ultirum 3000, but we are getting the Backup Job failed once we start the backup saying " Inventory Drive 00001 -- The job failed with the following error: Physical Volume Library Drive or Robot paused, offline, or disabled."
Can experts guide me to overcome this problem.

I formatted a new disk and added that disk to the backup exec 2012 storage
Now the backup disk gives me every time the message :
Not enough statistical information is available
State of disk = Online
When a job is running and wants to backup to that disk:
Error:
Final error: 0xe000810c - Physical Volume Library Drive not available. Final error category: Backup Device Errors
What can I do? I reformatted the disk, re-added the disk....

Backupexec 2010 and 2012 leaving snapshots behind

Hi there,
I have a number of customers who run VMWare infrastructures and have backupexec in place to perform their backups with varying degrees of success, however, I've discovered an issue which is of some concern. I have found backupexec is frequently leaving snapshots behind when backup jobs fail, as such the VMs continue running on the snapshots and I'm having to go and manually consolidate them. This issue is happening in the following scenarios (that I've found so far):
Physical Backup Server (Win2k3, all patches installed) + BE2010 R3 > AVVI Backup of Esxi 4 with all patches installed, VMs running 2k3 and 2k8r2
Physical Backup Server (Win2k3, all patches installed) + BE2012 > AVVI Backup of Esxi 4 with all patches installed, VMs running 2k3 and 2k8r2
Physical Backup Server (Win2k3, all patches installed) + BE2012 > AVVI Backup of Esxi 5.1 with patches installed, VMs running linux and 2k3.
I appreciate there are some 'quality issues' with 2012 and Vmware as per a symantec blog post, however, I'm just trying to perform non-grt backups of a linux machine as I can accept not having granular restores available for the time being, but my primary concern is the snapshots frequently being left behind, the BE media services aren't crashing, just the job is failing and BE not instructing vsphere to consolidate the snapshot. This issue was first discovered on Wednesday morning when a customer lost access to their most important database as the datastore had filled up after a housekeeping process which is scheduled to run after the backup kicked in, causing the delta to grow rapidly. Consequently my customer lost 6 hours of their day whilst I consolidated snapshots and got the machine back up and running. Along with this the backup had failed, meaning if i'd had any corruption issues I would have had to roll them back another day for a working backup. Presently I'm having to check for snapshots being left behind and consolidate them manually, which I've done 3 times yesterday and twice this morning. First off, am I doing something wrong? The configuration isn't particularly complex and I can't see any obvious options I'm missing that would lead to this scenario, but I'm all ears if someone has a pointer or two. Secondly, if it is a known issue going as far back as 2010 and esxi 4, is there a patch scheduled to deal with this?
I accept if the media server crashes then it wouldn't be around to make an api call to vmware to perform the consolidation, so in this situation I know to go and tidy up manually, but obviously if the services aren't failing and are leaving things behind this is a nightmare, causing me to spend more time making checks and working around the product, not ideal as I sell Backupexec to my customers under the theory that it should reduce their support bills by being a superior product. Sadly, at present, I'm finding I spend more time supporting BE than I did NTBackup or Server Backup built into Windows, after convinving them to shell out ~£1k on software to improve reliability and reduce support.

Some - not all - of my tapes are showing as "Cleaning Media"

Before someone smacks me in th eface, I've read http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH61720. None of the "causes" listed are applicable. ALl of my tapes are good, verified. All of my tape drives are good, verified. Bar code rules aren't even enabled.
Not all of the media is showing as "Cleaning Media" but a lot of them are - roughly 50% of the tapes in the SL500 are. Attempts to move the tapes from the "Cleaning Media" media set to either "retired" or a real backup media set show sucessful but the tapes never move. They remain in the "cleaning media" media set. The only thing that will actually move them out is an inventory of the slot they are in. I'd really like to know what is causing this. It happens ever so often and is a PITA to come into on a Friday morning when I need to get my tapes exported and ready for transport offiste to find out the none of my Thursday night diffs ran because BE thought it had no media to write to.

Backup Exec 2012 restore from tape goes and ends successfully, however 0 bytes and 0 files are restored. Tried to changes NTFS settings. Restore is to alternate location: share with everyone share permission and everyone ntfs permission. How can I troubleshoot it?

Last 7 Days Backup Incorrect
I need a solution
I have an issue with how the "Last 7 Days of Backup Jobs" displays on my backup exec 2012 server, running on Microsoft Server 2012. If my backup on a server starts running at 11pm, (when everyone is out of the office, and remote users are logged out by then) and finishes after 12am, so the next day, it will label it as friday is backed up properly. In my mind friday did not have a backup run, it was thursdays that just ran into next day. For me I know how to see this and get what is going on. I may have to deleagate swapping backup cartridges in the near future as I get busier and am not in the office all the time. I want the employee who is doing this to see the correct day being labeled as having a backup. This bugs me especially because if you go to restore something, it will label the backup with the time and date of start time. Is there anyway to change how the UI displays this, or will I just have to make sure that my employee knows what is going on?

BUE2012/Exchange 2010 Dag issues
I need a solution
So after re-jigging our configuration for BUE2012(sp1a) and Exchange2010, i had it set with the right datastores and to backup using passive copy only.
Every time this runs - it now runs at fast speeds - 3, 4 even 5GB/min, but it fails with V-79-57344-894 saying it cannot access a passive copy using our preferred server settings - despite backing up about 20 gig of data and only accessing the local server which we want.
If i set BUE to do passive or active, it must just access the active copy, but this goes out over WAN to our off-site servers, even though these aren't in the preferred server list.
How do i get this job to complete successfully - without going out over the WAN - reading only from our LOCAL server, none of the others.

Backing up a remote Win7 PC
I need a solution
I have Backup Exec 2010 with a Desktop and Laptop Remote Agent license. I'm trying to backup a Windows 7 Pro PC and it keeps telling me I need a license for the agent to back this up. This server did have a previous version of Backup Exec a few months ago. I believe it was 9.6. That version was removed and 2010 loaded. The 2010 worked fine up until a few days ago when I added the agent license and added my Win 7 destination to be backed up.
Any ideas why it keeps asking for a license
I loaded the agent on the server and went through the wizard to add my workstation. Everything went smooth. I went into the nightly job and added my workstation. No errors. It only errors out with the licensing error when it tries to back it up. Weird that it will push out the agent and let me select data off of the PC to backup without any issues
